Birgunj Customs Office collects Rs 1.09 billion in revenue in first eight months



BIRGUNJ: The Customs Office in Birgunj has collected Rs 1.09 billion in revenue during the first eight months of the current fiscal year, falling short of its target of Rs 1.39 billion.

Customs Chief Administrator Deepak Lamichhane stated that the revenue collection ranged from Rs 12.15 billion in the first month of the fiscal year (Shrawan, mid-July to mid-August 2024) to Rs 15.47 billion in the month of Magh (January-February 2025).

The office remains optimistic that revenue collection will improve in the remaining four months of the fiscal year. The highest contributions to the revenue have come from the import of petroleum products and motor vehicles.
