Student organizations demand removal of election officer at Sunkuda Campus

BAJHANG: Student organizations affiliated with the Nepali Congress and the UML have demanded the removal of Hikmat Bahadur Syada, the election officer at Sunkuda Campus in Bajhang.

The Nepali Congress and the All Socialist Party have accused Syada of acting in a chaotic and unilateral manner without creating a conducive environment to reopen the locked campus.

The two organizations had locked the campus on March 13, alleging that the election officer had failed to conduct the election process in accordance with the university’s guidelines.

In a joint statement, the student groups reiterated their demand for Syada’s removal, insisting that the election process should strictly adhere to university regulations.

They also claimed that Syada, who serves as a part-time teacher at the campus, is politically influenced, further raising concerns about the fairness of the election process.
