Domestic tourist dies of pneumonia while visiting Rara

MUGU: A domestic tourist visiting Rara Lake, one of Nepal’s major tourist destinations, has died due to pneumonia.

The deceased has been identified as Bhuwan Bishwakarma (54) of Dhulikhel Municipality-10, Kavre, according to Chief District Officer Kamal Prasad Pandey.

Dr. Nakul Shahi of District Hospital Mugu informed that Bishwakarma had visited the hospital at 9 pm on Sunday after experiencing breathing difficulties. The hospital recommended admission due to low oxygen levels, but he declined.

Later, his friends brought him back to the hospital in an ambulance at 6 am on Monday, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to Dr. Shahi, Bishwakarma suffered from chronic asthma and obesity, which, combined with cold weather, high altitude, and snowfall, led to respiratory arrest.

The deceased was part of a 25-member group that had traveled to Rara on Sunday.
