HPV vaccination campaign to resume today in mountainous districts

KATHMANDU: The HPV vaccination campaign against cervical cancer, which had been paused in the mountainous regions due to bad weather, will restart today.

Heavy snowfall in areas such as Manang, Mustang, Dolpa, and Humla had interrupted the vaccination process.

Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, shared this update during a routine video briefing.

The vaccination efforts will resume in Manang, Mustang, and Humla on Monday, while Dolpa will begin its vaccination on March 6.

The nationwide campaign, which took place from February 4 to 18, successfully reached 92% of its target, as reported by the Ministry.
