16-year-old gang-raped in Mahottari



MOHATTARI: A 16-year-old girl has been gang-raped at Samsi village municipality of Mahottari district.

The issue came to fore only after a case was filed at the Mahottari police station on Friday.

The incident occurred at around 7 pm when the girl had gone out for defecation at an open space a week ago, police said.

A gang of four raped her in a paddy field, according to police.

The villagers came to know about the case when the girl reached the village in a state of half-consciousness due to excessive bleeding.

The victim said she was raped by four persons, including two of her relatives.

All four of them have absconded.

Police have initiated a search of the four criminals.
