KMC Mayer Balen Shah asks PM Oli for ‘basis to live as a Nepali’

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has written an open letter to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, requesting a “basis to live as a Nepali.”

Shah shared the letter on his Facebook page on Friday, expressing his discontent with how America, India, and China have treated Nepal.

In his post, Shah wrote, “America has already called us corrupt, India has already called us a beggar, China does not care about us. Forget that I am a mayor; give me a basis to live as a Nepali.”

This is not the first time Shah has expressed strong opinions about international relations. Previously, he had responded to former US President Donald Trump’s remarks labeling American assistance to Nepal as fraudulent by saying, “Thank you for making me realize that my country is good.”
