NA unanimously passes Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Bill-2081 BS

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the National Assembly (NA) here today unanimously endorsed the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Bill-2081 BS.

Earlier in the meeting, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka had presented a proposal seeking endorsement of the Bill along with the report of the Legislation Management Committee in the meeting.

NA Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal thereafter presented the Bill for decision and announced the unanimous endorsement of the Bill.

Similarly, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Bidya Bhattarai presented proposal seeking deliberations on the Bills relating to National Forensic Science Laboratory.

Likewise, Kamala Panta, Chairperson of the Development, Economic Affairs and Good-Governance presented a report on the need for provision for legal framework for safeguarding rights for Dalit communities.

During the meeting NA Secretary Dr Surendra Aryal tabled the messages received from the House of Representatives (HoR) on Secured Transactions (First Amendment) Bill-2080 BS and the Bill related to the Banking Offence and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill 2080 BS.

The NA shall meet again on coming Tuesday.
