870 people benefit from health camp in Myanglung

TEHRATHUM: A total of 870 individuals received free medical services at a health camp organized in Myanglung, the district headquarters, Tehrathum, specifically targeting those with heart-related health issues.

The camp was arranged by the Lions Club of Kathmandu and Buddha Universal, with technical support from the Martyr Gangalal Heart Centre in Kathmandu.

The initiative also received backing from lawmaker Sita Gurung, Myanglung Municipality, Nabil Bank, and various local social organizations.

In addition to heart screenings, participants were also tested for diabetes and blood pressure. People from all six local levels visited the camp for the free health services.

Dr. Rabi Malla, Executive Director of the Gangalal Heart Centre, mentioned that individuals requiring additional treatment would receive free care at the Centre in Kathmandu.

Transport costs for the patients were covered by the Jayanti Memorial Trust.

A team of 18 specialized doctors, led by cardiologist Dr. Dipak Limbu, provided the medical services during the camp.

The camp was designed to offer crucial and specialized medical care to heart patients who struggle with the cost and logistics of treatment in urban areas.

Mayor of Myanglung Municipality, Sanjay Kumar Tumbahamphe, expressed appreciation for all the groups involved in ensuring the camp’s success.

Lawmaker Gurung mentioned that the health camp was the result of an extended initiative.
