KATHMANDU: As Mahashivaratri approaches, preparations are in full swing at the Pashupati area.
Cleaning and painting work on the Shiva temples, shrines, and monasteries in the complex has commenced in anticipation of the festival.
Mahashivaratri, celebrated annually in Nepal on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha in the Nepali month of Falgun, is marked with immense enthusiasm.
Every year, thousands of devotees from across Nepal and India visit the Pashupati area to partake in the festivities.
The festival is a significant occasion for worship and reverence of Lord Pashupatinath.
As the main day of Lord Shiva’s worship, the preparations for Mahashivaratri are underway, ensuring the Pashupati area is ready for the grand celebration.
