MANANG: Despite the lack of snowfall, the mountainous district of Manang has attracted foreign tourists this winter.
In January alone, 618 tourists from 46 different countries visited the region.
According to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Manang office, the highest number of visitors in January came from neighboring China, driven by public holidays for the Chinese New Year.
A total of 199 tourists from China visited during this period.
ACAP Manang chief Dhak Bahadur Bhujel also noted that 106 tourists from India visited the district.
This year, unlike previous years when foreign tourist numbers were low during the off-season, there has been a noticeable increase in visitors, bringing a sense of optimism among local tourism entrepreneurs.
