Tri-Nation Women’s T20: Nepal playing against Thailand today

KATHMANDU: In their pursuit of victory, Nepal will face Thailand at the Tri-Nation Women’s T20 Cricket Ground in Kirtipur today (Tuesday).

Nepal, having lost three consecutive matches in the ongoing tri-nation women’s T20 series, will take on an undefeated Thailand, who have won all three of their previous matches. The match is set to begin at 12:15 pm.

There is added pressure on Nepal to secure a win on home soil, while the visiting Thailand team enters the match with high morale, eager to continue their undefeated streak.

Nepal has faced setbacks, losing to the Netherlands by 20 runs in the first match, then falling to Thailand by four wickets in the second match.

On Sunday, Nepal was once again defeated by the Netherlands, this time by 15 runs in the third match.

The team has struggled to secure victories after missing crucial opportunities in batting, bowling, and fielding.

While Nepal’s bowling has been solid, their batting has been weak.

Before the start of the tournament, Nepal had dreamt of lifting the tri-nation trophy at home, but now they find themselves battling for their first win on home turf.

On the other hand, Thailand, who defeated the Netherlands by eight wickets in their first match, also won by four wickets in the second match against Nepal.

They secured a 17-run victory over the Netherlands in their third match and have earned 6 points from three games.

The Netherlands, in second place, has accumulated four points, while Nepal sits at the bottom of the table without any points.

A loss in today’s match would end Nepal’s chances of winning the title, but a victory would keep their hopes mathematically alive.
