Govt committed to ensuring peace, good-governance and prosperity: Minister Lekhak



KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring good-governance, development and economic prosperity in the country.

In his address to the main celebration of the National Martyr’s Day, 2081 BS organized by the federal government in Singha Durbar premises today, Minister Lekhak argued that the national obligation lies in moving ahead on the path set by the martyrs by further strengthening sustainable peace, good-governance, stability and development.

Lekhak called on citizens to work in unison to realize the vision of justice, equality and prosperous Nepal as envisioned by the constitution of Nepal.

He recognized protection of constitution and strengthening of federal republic democratic governance system as the current national needs and thus reiterated the government’s commitment for the same.

Outlining establishment of rule of law as the government’s top priority, he assured that the incumbent government is there for the citizens.

He said that the government is resolutely working to achieve sustainable development, peace and prosperity and, he added, the government believed these goals could be achieved through the federal democratic republican system.

“No obstacles will deter us from achieving peace, good-governance, development and prosperity,” the Minister observed confidently, assuring to continue pro-public initiatives and to fulfill martyrs’ dreams.

Highlighting his Ministry’s ongoing efforts to maintain peace and order, to uphold the rule of law, to ensure security to citizens, he assured that the government will continue to control crime and promote social justice.

He called for broader cooperation among all political parties to maintain national unity and social amity. He also urged collective efforts and contributions to make martyrs’ scarifies meaningful.
