KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that positive responses were received about the recently-issued ordinances by the government.
Addressing the parliamentary party meeting of the CPN (UML) today, PM Oli reiterated the ordinances were brought to create an enabling environment for retaining youths in the country, ensure effective public service delivery and create business-friendly environment.
The UML summoned the parliamentary party meeting ahead of the winter session of the Federal Parliament, which is beginning on January 31.
The PM said that 29 laws were amended from the ordinances and the replacement bills would be brought soon in the winter session of the Federal Parliament.
On the occasion, the UML’s parliamentary party leader and PM Oli asked the UML parliamentarians to present themselves on the basis of fact and logic being more restraint and responsible.
Asking the UML MPs for their effective presence in parliament, Oli directed the party’s lawmakers to counter in a constructive way if accusations were made from the oppositions.
Saying that the government would present itself for the cause of national unity, sovereignty and independence, PM Oli stressed the need of working for good governance, policy-level clarity and pragmatism.
PM Oli also said that Nepal should maintain its foreign relations with both the neighboring countries in a balanced and friendly manner on the basis of mutual benefits adding that Nepal has accorded special priority for its relations with the neighboring countries.
Saying that attempts to establish the false narratives of ‘nothing progress has happened’ are being made, the PM said the government was working on education, health care, agriculture and other areas with much attention.
“We have to work in an unusual way. The current coalition government will last until the upcoming general elections. There is no meaning of rhetoric on collapse of this government,” PM Oli added.
He further said that there are no other ways of transformation except the democratic exercise and constitutional processes in Nepal though examples of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are being shared.
During the UML’s PP meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung descried about the ordinance and the need for amendments to the laws.
