KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday stayed the MBBS entrance examinations of Institute of Medicines (IoM).

A single bench of Justice Tej Bahadur KC asked the concerned not to hold the exams for the time being after responding to a writ filed by Aayush Ojha. The IOM was conducting the entrance exam on Saturday.

The apex court has asked both the plaintiffs and defendants to be present before the court on Wednesday for discussions.

Ojha had moved the court arguing that the exams were being held going against the National Medical Education Bill. Medical students have been protesting calling for a scholarship up to 75 percent in medical education as defined by the act.
