Secretariat established for 10th National Sports Tournament



KATHMANDU: A secretariat for the 10th National Sports Tournament has been established. The tournament is being held in Karnali Province.

Minister for Youth and Sports, Tejulal Chaudhary, inaugurated the 10th National Sports Tournament secretariat amidst a programme organized by the National Sports Council here Wednesday. He said preparations for the sports competition to be held in Surkhet were intensified for the event.

Document for the management of necessary budget to the sports competition reached the Finance Ministry, he informed, adding that 36 different games would be included in the competition. The board meeting to be held on January 16 will make further decision on it.

According to him, the games that win medals in the international competitions will be given priority in the 10th national sports competition.

On the occasion, National Sports Council Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising said 24 sports were likely to be played in Karnali Province.

The remaining matches would be held at other locations owing to residential problems for players in Surkhet.

The tenth national sports competition is scheduled to be held from April 5 to 17.
