Eight new National Sports Council members sworn in



KATHMANDU: Eight newly appointed members of the National Sports Council have taken the oath of office and secrecy, marking the start of their four-year tenure.

Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary administered the oath at a ceremony held on Friday at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Singha Durbar.

The new council members—Shanti Kumari Chaudhary, Anand Kumar Jha, Subarna Shrestha, Kamal Bahadur Bhattarai, Himal Kumar Shrestha, Nanda Basyal, Jagatsingh Dhami, and Bhan Bahadur Chand—were appointed by a cabinet decision earlier this week.

During the ceremony, Minister Chaudhary urged the council members to actively contribute to the advancement of Nepal’s sports sector.

He highlighted their pivotal role in fostering the development of athletes, infrastructure, and policies to elevate the nation’s sports profile
