NEPSE sees slight rise, turnover limited to Rs 3 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 5.10 points (0.19%) on Wednesday, closing at 2,581.60.

Despite the positive trend, trading volume remained underwhelming.

A total of 9.43 million shares worth Rs 3.59 billion were traded today. Among the listed companies, 150 saw their share prices increase, 88 experienced a decline, and 4 remained unchanged.

Out of the 305 companies involved in trading, 43,729 transactions were recorded. Five companies hit a positive circuit breaker, while one encountered a negative circuit breaker.

Among the 13 sectors, 8 registered gains, with the finance sector leading at a 3.87% increase, while the investment sector recorded the smallest rise at 0.09%.

On the downside, the commercial banking sector dropped the most by 0.72%, followed by the life insurance sector with a 0.06% decline.
