Congress General Convention will happen on time: Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has urged party members demanding a timely general convention to stop complaining, assuring them it will occur as scheduled.

Speaking at an event in Hetauda, Makwanpur, on Tuesday, Thapa emphasized there is no need to fret about the convention.

“The 15th general convention will happen. If the 10th, 11th, and 12th conventions took place, why wouldn’t the 15th?” he asked, adding, “Why are we complaining unnecessarily?”

Thapa also called on leaders to refrain from over-discussing the issue, stating that it is a regular process within the party.

“There’s no need to speculate whether the convention will happen or not. It’s a normal procedure in the party. We’ve been entrusted with the responsibility, and it will be done on time,” he said.

He further suggested that party members focus on current responsibilities rather than the 2084 elections. “Let’s not talk excessively about the 2084 elections. We are still in 2081, and if we fulfill our duties, the election will naturally work in our favor,” he added.
