KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh has announced that the process of amending the constitution will move forward after consultations with all political parties.

Speaking to the media in Rupandehi, Singh said that a task force comprising members of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML has been formed to facilitate the amendment process.

“The task force is currently working internally, and discussions with all political parties will precede the amendment process,” he said.

During his visit to Rupandehi, Singh laid the foundation stone for the Siyari Tourism Corridor and inaugurated the Dayanagar Demon Lift Irrigation Project in Siyari Rural Municipality. He expressed optimism that these initiatives would significantly improve the local economy.

“The tourism corridor and the irrigation project will transform the economic conditions of Siyari’s residents,” Singh stated. The lift irrigation project is expected to provide irrigation facilities to 105 hectares of farmland, benefitting local farmers and boosting agricultural productivity.

In a separate context, Singh highlighted the government’s efforts to revive the economy following the impact of Covid. He assured that signs of recovery are now evident, with policies aimed at stabilizing and improving economic conditions.
