MAKWANPUR: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakashman Singh claimed that the Nepali Congress led single majority government can only consolidate federalism in the country.

Talking to media persons after inspecting the under-construction Ganeshman Singh Highway here today, Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Singh said the incumbent government was also working to strengthen federalism.

He also directed the officials of the concerned bodies to pay special attention to quality construction.
The road is under construction from Thankot in Kathmandu to Thaha Municipality-9 in Makawanpur.

Meanwhile, at a meeting with NC cadres of Thaha municipality-9, leader Singh argued that the parliamentary democratic system has been institutionalized under the leadership of NC and the party cadres should reach the doorsteps of the people and strengthen the organizational base.

DPM Singh noted that it is necessary for the NC to get a majority in the upcoming elections to improve the economic condition of the people.

He stressed the need for party leaders and cadres to come together to fulfill the aspirations of the people for development.

Also speaking on the occasion, NC Bagmati Province President Indra Bahadur Baniya said the party cadres should not be divided into factional feuds.
