Women’s U-19 Asia Cup: Nepal-Sri Lanka Super-4 match abandoned due to rain

KATHMANDU: The Super-4 match between Nepal and Sri Lanka in the ongoing Women’s U-19 Asia Cup in Malaysia was called off due to rain.

The match, held at the Bayumas Oval Cricket Ground in Kuala Lumpur, had just begun when the rain disrupted play.

Nepal had won the toss and opted to field, but the match was abandoned shortly after the first over due to continuous rain.

Nepal secured a spot in the Super-4 after defeating Pakistan by 6 wickets in their first match.

Their final group-stage game against India was also abandoned due to rain. That resulted in Nepal and India sharing one point each, with India topping Group ‘A’ on the basis of a superior run rate, while Nepal finished as runners-up.
