Unified Socialist reshuffles leaders’ responsibilities

KATHMANDU: Six months after its Central General Conference, the Unified Socialist has reassigned the roles of several party leaders through a major reshuffle.

The party’s standing committee meeting announced a 24-member central secretariat under the leadership of Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal.

Senior leader Jhalanath Khanal now heads the School Department, while Beduram Bhusal leads the Organization Department.

Pramesh Hamal has been assigned to head the Foreign Department, Ghanendra Basnet will oversee the State Affairs Department, and Senior Vice President Rajendra Pandey now leads the Front Branch.

Vice President Jagannath Khatiwada is tasked with Federal and Provincial Affairs, Prakash Jwala heads the Publicity Department, and Jayanti Rai is in charge of the All Nepal Women’s Association (Socialist).

Other vice presidents assigned roles include Bhanubhakta Joshi for Sudurpaschim Province, Dharmanath Prasad Sah for Madhes Province, and Gangalal Tuladhar for Bagmati Province.

General Secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal will handle monitoring duties, while Deputy General Secretary Rajendra Rai is in charge of Koshi Province, and Ram Kumar Bhattarai serves as Office Secretary.

Garima Shah will manage parliamentary affairs, and Metmani Chaudhary is now in charge of Lumbini Province.

Additional assignments include Srinath Baral for Gandaki Province, Chandra Bahadur Shahi for Karnali Province, Laxman KC for the Youth Department, and Ram Kumari Jhankri for the Student Department.
