PM Oli calls Cabinet meeting today

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has called a cabinet meeting for Thursday.

This will be the first cabinet meeting since his return from a visit to China.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the meeting is scheduled to take place at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar at 7 PM today.

Some leaders of the ruling Nepali Congress have expressed concerns regarding the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Cooperation Framework, which was signed during PM Oli’s visit to China.

Following questions raised within the Nepali Congress, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the BRI agreement signed in Beijing public on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Oli officially visited China on December 2, accompanied by Foreign Minister and Nepali Congress leader Dr. Arzu Rana.

Additionally, during his visit, Prime Minister Oli spent three days in his home district of Jhapa.
