Three arrested with gold, silver, and cash worth over Rs 10 million



KAILALI: The Armed Police Force arrested three individuals with gold, silver, cash, and other valuables worth over Rs 10 million in Bhajani, Kailali.

The items were seized from the Kauwakheda border area in Bhajani Municipality-5 on Saturday evening, according to DSP Shailendra Thapa, Joint Spokesperson for the Armed Police Force.

The arrested individuals are Mahendra Bahadur Shahi from Chaukuni Rural Municipality-10, Surkhet; Harka Bahadur BK from Birendranagar Municipality-1; and Mahesh Sunar from Panchpuri Municipality-11.

They were detained by the Border Out Post (BOP) Pagiapasar under the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 34 Battalion in Kailali.

During a routine check, the police found 620 grams of gold worth Rs 80,79,561; 8 kg 914 grams of silver worth Rs 1,528,460; IRS 611,625, Saudi riyals, four mobile phones, and silver-plated utensils in their possession.

Thapa stated that the individuals did not reveal the source of the seized items, and action has been taken against them.

The arrested persons, along with the recovered goods, have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
