PALPA: A new suspension bridge has been constructed at Ripahaghat in Palpa-Arunkhola, connecting Nisdi Rural Municipality-4 Ripaha and Nawalpur Municipality-14 (east of Nawalparasi Sustapur).

The 175-meter-long bridge, which links the Lumbini and Gandaki provinces, was built at a cost of NPR 13.76 million, funded by the federal government.

The bridge was inaugurated by Raju Prasad Shrestha, a member of the Lumbini Province Assembly and Chairman of the Finance, Industry, and Tourism Committee.

He emphasized that both the federal and provincial governments have prioritized development and infrastructure projects.

Mukta Bahadur Saru, Chairman of Nisdi Rural Municipality, stated that the construction of the bridge will ease transportation challenges that the local community had previously faced.

The bridge will directly benefit not only the people of Nisdi Rural Municipality, but also residents of nearby areas including Jholunge, Sarudanda, and Dwari of Madhyabindu Municipality, as well as Ripaha, Lamedmar, Mudhabas, Dhakredmar, and Nawalpur (east of Nawalparasi Susta).
