Chilaw Marians beats Nepal U-19 by 89 runs

KATHMANDU: Nepal U-19 faced a defeat by 89 runs in the hands of Chilaw Marians Cricket Club of Sri Lanka on Friday.

Chasing 225 runs target set by the host, Nepal managed to get only 135 runs on the board losing all wickets in 40.3 over. Ashif Seikh top-scored for Nepal at 45 runs as Bhim Sharki and Rit Gautam contributed 26 and 25 runs respectively.

Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Chilaw Marians made 224 runs on the board in the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.

Nepali U-19 cricket team is currently in Sri Lanka for the preparation of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup to be held from September 5 to 14.
