PM honours bodybuilding competition winners



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has honoured the players winning medals in the 15th Bodybuilding Competition held recently in the Maldives.

The PM felicitated Rupesh Shahi, Prajjwal Shakya, Rajani Shakya and Sonam Mulaguthi who won medals in the various weight categories of the competition and made the nation proud at the PM’s official residence at Baluwatar today.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister said that the government shall encourage promotion of bodybuilding in the country as there is adequate potential of developing it as a sport.

President of the Nepal Bodybuilding Federation Rajesh Babu Shrestha called on the government to prioritize bodybuilding as it will help in the promotion of sports tourism in the country.

Madan Bhandari Sports Academy Chairperson Dhruba Acharya, among other officials was present on the occasion.
