Two dead, 18 hurt in Arghakhanchi bus accident



ARGHAKHANCHI: Two people died and 18 others were injured in a bus accident that occurred Monday at Jayathati of Bhumikasthan municipality in Arghakhanchi.

The accident happened when a bus (Na 3 Kha 2471) hit a group participating in design bhailo, a traditional singing and dancing event for the Tihar festival late this evening.

The preliminary reports suggest that brake failure may have caused the accident.

A woman was killed on the spot while another victim identified as Tara Shrestha, 22, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Arghakhanchi Hospital, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Chakra Bahadur Malla.
