Government’s anti-public actions prompted warning rally: Narayan Kaji

KATHMANDU: The Vice Chair of the main opposition, CPN-Maoist Center, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, stated that the party organized a warning assembly to counter government actions that are against public interest.

Addressing the ongoing assembly on Kathmandu’s Exhibition Road, Shrestha said the Maoists arranged this gathering to halt actions by the government that he claims work against the interests of the people.

Vice Chair Shrestha further accused ruling parties, their leaders, and the government of prioritizing personal gain and facilitating corruption.

“This assembly is organized to give public pressure against the ruling parties, their leaders, and the government, who are focused on party interests, private gains, advancing corruption, and promoting misgovernance, which all go against the interests of the country and its people,” he stated. “Today, we have organized a large warning assembly to counter and prevent these actions.”

Shrestha also claimed that the Congress-UML alliance toppled the Prachanda-led government to halt its anti-corruption initiatives and protect the corrupt.

“This government was clearly established by removing our administration to block the anti-corruption drive, to shield the corrupt, and to create avenues for corruption,” he asserted.
