KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed satisfaction with the government’s performance during its first 100 days.

Deuba stated that there is no reason to be dissatisfied with the work accomplished by the government led by CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

Speaking to News Agency Nepal, he asserted that the government has effectively utilized its initial “honeymoon period.”

He addressed misconceptions about the government’s efforts in disaster management, emphasizing that security personnel were deployed for relief and rescue operations.

“I think it’s good—there are many reasons to consider these 100 days as a success. We refer to this period as the honeymoon phase. The government has performed well; it’s progressing. It has also gained momentum,” he added.

Deuba added that the response to the floods and landslides has been commendable stating, “We sent people out for rescue, and they were even airlifted by helicopter.”

Furthermore, he affirmed that the current government will complete its full term, with Prime Minister Oli expected to lead for two years from the formation of the UML-Nepali Congress coalition.

“There’s no concern here; everyone is doing well. Pm Oli would govern for two years, and I will lead for the remaining one and a half years,” Deuba stated.
