POKHARA: Former Home Minister and Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, is being presented in Kaski District Court today for an extension of his detention.

He was arrested on charges of misappropriation of cooperative funds.

The police are seeking a six-day extension of the deadline, which had previously been extended once.

Kaski Police Spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police Basanta Kumar Sharma, stated that the investigation is ongoing and that the statement could not be finalized as evidence and documents are still being collected.

Additionally, former DIG Chabilal Joshi, who is implicated as a partner in the Gorkha Media Network, is also being produced in court today for a similar extension.

Lamichhane was arrested by police on Friday last week in Kathmandu and subsequently taken to Pokhara, while Joshi was arrested also in Kathmandu.
