CHITWAN: The Chitwan District Court has recorded the statement of television presenter Rabi Lamichhane.

Even though the court started recording statements of Lamichhane and Yubaraj Kandel from Sunday, they could not be completed due to time constraint.

The District Attorney Office, Chitwan had on Sunday filed a charge-sheet against Lamichhane, Kandel and Asmita Karki.

Though the court recorded Karki’s statement on Sunday, Kandel’s statement has been recorded this morning in connection with the suicide of journalist Shalikram Pudasaini.

Lamichhane, Kandel, and Karki have been charged with abetting Pudasaini’s suicide. The court will decide whether to release them on a general date, grant bail or remand them to custody until the court gives its verdict on the case.

The Chitwan District Attorney Office has sought a fine of Rs 50,000 and a sentence of five years or both for Lamichhane, Kandel, and Karki in line with the Criminal Code Act, 2017.
