One dead, two injured in accident in Jhapa



JHAPA: One person was killed and two others were injured in a road accident at Hanumanchowk, Bhadrapur municipality-10, on Thursday night.

A head-on collision between two motorcycles resulted in the death of 24-year-old Alok Bhandari from Bhadrapur-10, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Chand of the District Police Office Jhapa.

The accident occurred at 9:50 PM when a motorcycle (Pradesh 1-01-014 Pa 993) traveling from Charali to Chandragadhi collided head-on with another motorcycle (Me 8 Pa 2835) coming from the opposite direction.

Bhandari was a pillion rider on the first motorcycle, which was being driven by his father, Trilochan Bhandari.

He was rushed to Omsai Pathibhara Hospital in Bhadrapur but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Injured Bipansu Raut, 24 from Bhadrapur-10, and Sangiv Ghimire, 25 from Bhadrapur-8, are receiving treatment.

Raut is being treated at Omsai Pathibhara Hospital, while Ghimire has been admitted to Biratamod B&C Hospital and his condition is said to be critical.
