KATHMANDU: Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, announced that recent natural disasters have caused damages exceeding NPR 25 billion in the physical infrastructure sector.
Speaking at a program organized by All Nepal National Free Students Union (UML) on ‘Regulation of Public Transport and Full Implementation of Student Concession’ in Kathmandu on Monday, Minister Dahal explained that roads, including sections from concrete bridge to suspension bridges, were washed away due to severe calamities in various parts of the country.
He emphasized that the government’s main priority is to repair the damaged roads and restore traffic as soon as possible.
Minister Dahal reassured that all blocked road networks would be reopened before the upcoming festival, with additional repairs to other sections also being carried out.
Furthermore, Minister Dahal noted that the government is taking measures to regulate airfares during the festive season, acknowledging the concern over high prices.
He added that strict monitoring would be implemented to ensure smooth and accessible travel for passengers.
