KATHMANDU: An all-party meeting has been called today at the request of Acting Prime Minister Prakashman Singh.

The meeting will take place at 1:00 pm at the Prime Minister’s office in Singha Durbar.

The purpose of the meeting is to address the pressing issues of floods, landslides, and other disasters resulting from incessant rain.

The discussions will focus on rescue efforts, property loss, and relief measures for affected individuals and communities, according to the PM’s Office.

With the onset of the monsoon season, floods and landslides have severely impacted lives across the country, leading to significant human casualties in several districts.

Infrastructure, including roads and bridges, has also suffered extensive damage.

Efforts are underway to rescue those stranded and ensure their safe return.

The Acting Prime Minister’s Secretariat has indicated that coordinated efforts are being made with the Ministry of Home Affairs to facilitate these operations.

On Saturday, Acting Prime Minister Singh was briefed on the disaster situation by Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, heads of security agencies, and other officials.

According to the secretariat, all branches of the government are fully mobilized to support individuals and families affected by the disaster, working through the National Emergency Operations Center and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
