Adrien Silva leaves Leicester City



LONDON: MIDFIELDER Adrien Silva has left Leicester City for the principality again, having spent the second half of the last term at the club.
Silva impressed across 15 games to help Monaco avoid Ligue 1 relegation.

He came back to City to work under a new manager in Brendan Rodgers, but has found himself out of favor again and so the 30-year-old has signed a fresh loan deal with Monaco and will hope to enjoy the new campaign as much as he did the last.

However, he hopes to be at the other end of the table this time.

“AS Monaco revived my confidence,” Silva said. “I enjoyed myself on the pitch. I felt important.

“I gave everything on my first visit. After a tough battle last year, I’m ready for the new challenge and we will do everything to help the club find its place.”

At Monaco, Silva teams up with Islam Slimani in a third different strip, having played alongside him at Sporting Lisbon and City.

The striker, who has joined Monaco on a season-long loan with an option to buy, believes manager Leonardo Jardim, who coached him at Sporting, knows how to get the best out of him.
