KATHMANDU: A total of 14 climbers have received permission to ascend Dhaulagiri Himal in Myagdi.

Dhaulagiri, the seventh-highest mountain in the world, is situated in Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-4 of Myagdi.

According to the Department of Tourism, this group consists of 14 male mountaineers who have secured climbing permits.

Last spring, a larger group — 22 men and 8 women — received permits to climb Dhawalagiri.

Hari Prasad Tilija, a ward member of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-4 and a hotelier at the Italy Base Camp, stated that the climbers, along with Sherpas, guides, porters, and support staff, are preparing to arrive at the base camp.

Additionally, the Department of Tourism has noted that this year, a total of 88 women and 274 men from 54 countries have obtained permits to climb 10 mountains in Nepal.
