Advance ticket booking for Dashain to open on Sept. 28

KATHMANDU: Advance booking for public bus transport tickets for Dashain will begin on September 28.

The Ghatastaphana this year falls on October 3.

This decision was made during a meeting between Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal and representatives of transport entrepreneurs.

The meeting also determined that discussions will be held with the Transport Management Department prior to opening advance ticket sales.

The meeting addressed seven points concerning the demands of businesses, including a directive to repair all roads under the road department before any construction begins.

Ishwari Dutta Paneru, Spokesperson for the Transport Management Department, announced plans to request the Ministry of Home Affairs and Nepal Police to allow operations of only small vehicles and to suspend night vehicle services on the BP Highway to enhance road safety.

The Department will monitor this situation and report back to the Ministry of Transport.

Additionally, vehicles will undergo mechanical testing to ensure safe and efficient travel.

Due to the lack of scientific fare adjustments over the past three years, it has been decided that fare adjustments will take place one week after the Chhath festival.
