Budget session of Federal Parliament prorogued



KATHMANDU: The budget session of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the National Assembly (NA) has officially concluded last night.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire announced the end of the current session, as stated in a letter from the Office of the President.

The Council of Ministers had recommended to the President to conclude the session in accordance with Article 93 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Speaker Ghimire highlighted the key aspects of the session, noting that a total of 56 HoR meetings were held over 53 days, and the session lasted for 130 days.

Throughout this budget session, eight governmental bills and one non-governmental bill were introduced.

Five of these bills have been passed by both the HoR and the NA, while three are still under consideration in parliamentary committees.
