Bringing qualitative change in women’s life is main responsibility: Maoist Centre Chair Dahal

KATHMANDU: Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that bringing a qualitative transformation in the political, economic, social and cultural lives of women is the major responsibility at present.

In a message of best wishes on the occasion of Haritalika Teej festival today, the Maoist Centre Chair expressed the confidence that Teej will provide the inspiration for social transformation.

He also stressed on the full implementation of the rights enshrined in the Constitution of Nepal issued on the back of the People’s War and the historic People’s Movement.

“I express my confidence that the festival of Teej would be taken as an opportunity for advocating for gender equality and social empowerment while preserving the original aspects of this religious and cultural festival that the Nepali women have been observing since ancient times and internalizing the changes that have come in the Nepali society,” Dahal said.

He also wished for peace, good health and happiness, prosperity, mutual unity, family goodwill and long life to all mothers and sisters within the country and abroad on the occasion of the Haritalika Teej festival.
