Over 6,000 dengue cases reported in eight months



KATHMANDU: More than 6,000 people have been infected with dengue across Nepal in the past eight months.

According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, dengue has spread to 75 districts, with a total of 6,347 reported cases.

Three deaths have been attributed to dengue during this period.

The Department has highlighted that Gandaki and Bagmati provinces are at particularly high risk, with the highest number of infections reported in these regions.

Specifically, Gandaki has seen 2,954 cases, accounting for 46.5% of the total infections, while Bagmati has reported 1,623 cases.

In contrast, the Karnali Province, which comprises 10 districts, has the lowest infection rate, with only 93 cases.

Among the 10 districts with the highest number of infections, Tanahun leads with 1,116 cases.

Other heavily affected districts include Kaski with 645 cases, Parbat with 587 cases, Chitwan with 517 cases, and Kathmandu with 511 cases.
