Woman receives money from husband’s killer to shroud murder, arrested

BHOJPUR: Police have arrested a woman on the charge of fleecing money from the murderer of her husband to shroud the murder case.

Police arrested Meena Mijar Sarki of Siddeshwor Dawa in Bhojpur MUNICIPALIty-4 in Bhojpur district along with five others.

Mohan Bahadur Ramtel has been accused of killing Purna Bahadur Suyal by pushing him from the cliff lying above the Chamira River on February 10, 2018.

Purna Bahadur’s neighbor Hari Bahadur Lamsal had been accused of demanding Rs 300,000 from the alleged murder to disguise the murder to be an accidental death.

Police arrested Meena as the investigation revealed that she had fleeced Rs 200,000 from her husband’s accused murderer, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nar Bahadur Salami.

Meena had stashed the money in a cooperative in Bhojpur district headquarters. Police arrested locals Min Kumar Mijar, Santosh Mijar and Bishnu Bayalkoti who have been accused of assisting Meena to get money from the alleged killer.
