MYAGDI: A Bailey bridge has been installed over the Myagdi River at Dhawalagiri rural municipality-4, Naura in Myagdi.

The Bailey bridge, installed by the under-construction hydropower projects based in the Myagdi River, has eased the locals and tourists going for climbing the Dhaulagiri mountain and the cyclic Dhawalagiri trekking route.

Chair of Dhawalagiri rural municipality, Prem Prasad Pun, said that the 65-MW Myagdi rivulet hydropower project and the 37-MW Upper Myagdi rivulet hydropower project have installed a 47-meter-long bailey bridge over the Myagdi River at Naura.

He said that the bridge has established transport access to the hydropower project construction site and made it easier for the residents of Naura, Bagar, Simkos, Khiwang and Khamla in geographically remote and remote areas.

According to the Myagdi rivulet hydropower project, it has set a target to expand the road to Bagargaun immediately after the rainy season.

Myagdi rivulet, Upper Myagdi rivulet and Upper Myagdi rivulet-1 hydropower projects had jointly constructed a three-kilometer road connecting Kekinki of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-4 to Khiwang.

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has started constructing the Dadakhet substation and transmission line.

According to the Department of Power Development, 13 hydropower projects with a capacity of 238.23 MW are under construction in Myagdi and its tributaries flowing through Dhawalagiri rural municipality.
