Nepali student shot dead in Houston, USA

KATHMANDU: A Nepali student studying in Houston, Texas, was shot dead in her apartment near Hillcroft.

Muna Pandey, 21, originally from Bhojpur, was found with a bullet wound to her chest. Police are currently investigating the incident, local media reports said.

Muna, who arrived in the U.S. in 2021 on an F-1 visa, was studying at Houston Community College.

On Monday afternoon, apartment staff received an anonymous tip about a deceased individual inside the apartment.

They notified the police, who subsequently discovered Muna’s body in her apartment room.

Muna’s friends reported that her phone had been turned off for two days prior to the discovery, and the phone itself is currently missing.

Gautam also mentioned that Muna’s family in Nepal has been informed about the tragic incident.
