IN PICS: Election fever grips CPN (Unified Socialist)



KATHMANDU: The CPN (Unified Socialist), led by Madhav Kumar Nepal, is holding a ‘mini general convention’ on Tuesday.

The party is set to elect 17 office bearers and 105 politburo members during the event.

The election will determine 6 Vice Chairmen, 4 Deputy General Secretaries, and 7 Secretaries. Rajendra Prasad Pandey has already been elected unopposed as the Senior Vice Chairman.

Previously, the party elected Madhav Kumar Nepal as Chairman, Ghan Shyam Bhusal as General Secretary, and Jhalnath Khanal as Respected Leader.

A total of 15 candidates are competing for the 6 Vice Chairman positions, while 19 are vying for the 4 Deputy General Secretary posts.

Additionally, Ram Kumari Jhakri and Jayanti Devi Rai are contending for the role of Female Vice Chairman.
