KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is taking place tomorrow (Tuesday).

The party has announced that the meeting, to be held at the party’s central office in Banasthali, will address various topics including party discipline, preparations for the national convention, and the procedures of the local shadow government.

During the meeting, a key agenda item will be the disciplinary action against suspended General Secretary Dr. Mukul Dhakal.

The leadership has indicated that a final decision regarding Dhakal’s status as an ordinary member may be made.

Dhakal, who was suspended from his roles as General Secretary and Spokesperson due to activities against party discipline, was given a 35-day period to provide an explanation.

Despite this, Dhakal continued to challenge the party’s decisions, prompting the RSP to consider his expulsion from the party.

According to the party’s executive spokesperson, Manish Jha, the Disciplinary Commission has already provided the necessary evidence for action against Dhakal.

“Tomorrow’s Central Committee meeting will address party discipline among other issues,” Jha stated.
