CPN (US) swears in central committee members two months after general convention (photos) 



KATHMANDU: Nearly two months after its general convention, the CPN (Unified Socialist) has finalized its central committee members.

During the convention held two months ago, Madhav Kumar Nepal was elected as Chairman, and Ghanshyam Bhusal as General Secretary, but the central committee was left incomplete with only 93 members, including senior leader Jhalanath Khanal.

On Sunday, the party swore in 251 new members, bringing the total number of central committee members to 344.

According to the party’s statute, the CPN (Unified Socialist) is permitted to have 21 office bearers and 299 central committee members.

However, the number of members was increased to 344 to accommodate all the aspirants.
