Chair Dahal: Talks underway to unite all leftist and maoist forces

KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ has expressed optimism that all factions of the Maoist movement that have split in the past will reunite.

Speaking at an event organized by the Nuwakot-Kathmandu Liaison Coordination Committee today, Dahal stated that continuous talks are being held to bring together all leftist, socialist, and Maoist forces that have previously fragmented.

He expressed confidence that these efforts would yield results soon.

Chair Dahal urged the party’s ranks and files to put in meaningful efforts to revitalize the Maoist movement and regain strong voter support, similar to the mandate received in 2064 BS.

He instructed party leaders and cadres to prepare a list of those who supported the Maoist party in 2064 and gather details about their descendants.

“After the central committee meeting, the party will launch a nationwide campaign to build a strong organization by uniting the people. By approaching the public with confidence, I have no doubt that we will achieve remarkable results,” Dahal stated, calling for a campaign focused on strengthening the party.

He also emphasized that the proportional and inclusion-related provisions in the constitution would not be weakened but rather enhanced through amendments.

Additionally, he noted that the transitional justice process is progressing.

Several senior leaders were also present at the event.
