KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an order to remove the 30-year service term limitation for Nepal Police personnel.

On Wednesday, police officers set to retire on September 1 due to the 30-year service rule filed a writ petition with the apex court.

Following the hearing, a bench led by Judge Hari Phuyal issued an interim order suspending the enforcement of the 30-year service term policy.

The court has directed that retirement letters be put on hold and that the affected police personnel continue their duties.
