KATHMANDU: Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav has extended happiness, peace, prosperity, good health and progress to all Nepalis at home and abroad on the occasion of the Janaipurnima (Rishi Tarpani), a religious and cultural festival being marked in Nepal since the ancient time.

The Vice President said that the main purpose of this festival is to encourage mutual brotherhood, affection, harmony, ownership and cooperation despite the festival is named differently in different geographies, regions and communities.

The Madhesi community in the Tarai-Madhes observes this festival as the Rakhi Tyohar, the Vice President has stated in his message.
